Round Up: ”Here We Go Again”

“Here We Go Again”
⚡ April 7, 2026 ⚡
I really do like spring. Outside of my office door on the north end of the Creamery Building there are five trees. They are attractive as all get out. They provide a nice shade in the parking area in the summer. These are Flowering Plum Trees. The first blossoms started blooming today.
These trees are so stunningly beautiful when they are in full bloom that tourists come to a screeching halt and jump out of their vehicles to take Instagram photos in front of them. The blossoms are plentiful and a gorgeous shade of pink.

Once they are fully flowered out, the spring winds start to whip the little blossoms off the trees and since the prevailing winds are from the northwest, it blows lots of these little blossoms into our office suite. Let’s just say that they are much better looking when they are ON the trees. Thankfully we have a decent vacuum here to keep things under control.
Speaking of things that flower, blossom, bear fruit or become vegetables, we hope to see you on Sunday at the Dance Palace for a recording live in front of a studio audience (yes, that could be YOU) of Jennifer Jewell in conversation with Rebecca Newburn. Click here for full info. The event is at 3 PM and folks can hang out starting at 2 PM and swap extra seeds or seedlings on the deck at the Dance Palace. The recording of this event will become a “Cultivating Place” program in the future! Thanks so much to our sponsors: Inverness Garden Club, Bolinas Hardware, Gathering Thyme, Point Reyes Lavender Co., Motel Inverness, The New School at Commonweal, and Larner Seeds.
Also, big thanks to West Marin Climate Action and the Point Reyes Library for helping with the seed exchange.
Now about those trees…
