TAKE ACTION: Tell the Senate to Save Public Media!

Despite an extraordinary show of grassroots advocacy, the House has passed a rescissions package that would claw back $1.1 billion in previously approved public media funding.

Since last Tuesday, grassroots advocates have delivered more than 37,000 calls and nearly 518,000 emails to Congress. Now, the fight turns to the Senate, our final chance to stop these devastating cuts. The bill only needs 50 votes to pass. The Senate has until July 18 to act on this measure.

Federal funding through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting makes up at least 25% of KWMR’s revenue. Without it, we’ll have to make very painful cuts like reduced programming and emergency alerts. We know that so much of what you value is under threat, and there are many competing claims and causes in the news. But local, independent media is the heart and soul of democracy.
