Round Up: “New Shows on KWMR”

“Where’s Amanda?”
May 13, 2025
For the first time in living memory, Amanda didn’t get around to writing this week’s Round Up. We know she’s out of town taking a break from all this station stuff, but it’s 4pm and aren’t sure what to do about the Round Up. So, a KWMR staff member is writing this for her… a mystery!
We’re all still coming down from the Pledge Drive and our big party on May 2nd (check out the slideshow or watch it below). Our annual drive brought in a handsome $88,674 (give or take) of our $100,000 goal, much of it from Round Up readers like you! Thank you!
New Shows on KWMR
We’ve got a new generation of programmers spinning records on air: James Zimmerman‘s Marshall Radio Hour is on “A” week Tuesdays at 4pm, playing a mix of indie rock from the 2000s and 2010s. DJ TJ brings a new class of chill to Point Tayes every Thursday at 1pm with her eclectic college-radio mix.
During the Pledge Drive, Kerry Livingston dropped by to pledge for Micah and DJ Emotional Support Dad and their absurdist Chicken Strips Radio (every other Wednesday at 4pm). Even if early 90s hip hop isn’t Kerry’s thing, she said she loves their banter and how they make each other laugh. You will too!
And you might have met Jahandar at the KWMR Day party’s silkscreening station. He’ll be playing ambient, downtempo lo-fi music to polish off the weekend, on Sundays from 10pm-midnight for an as-yet unnamed show. Keep an ear out…
Plus, this Thursday at 5pm on Community Buzz, Jordan talks to West Marin’s own Samantha Kimmey, the former Light reporter and current store manager of Point Reyes Books whose fantastic debut novel is now available for pre-order.
We’ve got such a solid lineup these days, with lots of creative energy and vision from our volunteer programmers, who truly embody the spirit of community radio.
Oh, we just got word from Amanda… turns out she was on a well-deserved hike on a beautiful day off! It sure is nice out. Let’s get off our screens and get some sun.
