Leave Only Footprints

This past weekend we were fortunate enough to attend a few days of Hardly Strictly Bluegrass in San Francisco. One of the many legacies left by the late Warren Hellman. Warren was a successful businessman who loved to play the banjo. He was remembered at the stages by those performing who had been around for many, if not the whole 24 years that the festival had been held in Golden Gate Park.
I saw a few of my fellow KWMR and West Marin neighbors at the event. If you missed it or were unable to attend, you can catch much of the performances HERE. Really amazing footage and audio thanks to Roger McNamee (of Moonalice). The schedule was robust as usual and there were a LOT of people there. Also, it was hot.
One of the acts that I caught was Laurie Lewis and the Right Hands. What an amazing performer and band. Laurie has graced the stage at KWMR’s own Sweethearts of the Radio over the many years. I am pleased to announce that we are bringing Sweethearts back in 2025. She will be joined by Sweethearts veterans “Misner and Smith,” Sam Misner and Megan Smith. We are working out the details, but save the date on your calendar (February 22 – a Saturday).
You will be happy to know that the database conversion is complete. We are now working out the details on how to use the new platform. Yay us!
It’s been a busy week and I am attending a two day training on Monday and Tuesday, so I’m going to keep it short. I hope that you all survived the heat, got to hop in the bay or ocean, and kept yourself and your pets hydrated.
Thank you all for reading!
