Roundup: “We Love, We Love, the Calendar Club!”

From the less messy desk of Amanda Eichstaedt…
We Love, We Love, the Calendar Club!
Sustain:
To give support or relief to. To nourish. To support the weight. To buoy up. To allow or admit as valid. Prolonging a musical note.
Today is the 20th of the month. The 20th of the month is the day when the sustaining membership donations (Calendar Club) come in to KWMR. This is a big deal. Our sustaining members are amazing! You may have noticed that your usual bills have increased. Sustaining donations help KWMR cover the basic costs of being here for you, just as you are here for us.
The 2025 Calendars that we send out to you at the beginning of the year are being created! If you would like to join this stellar group of over 250 households that help prolong KWMR’s musical note (as well as our talk, information and emergency updates), you can do so HERE.
It buoys us up and makes us feel valid to know that you all support KWMR!
And speaking of typos….
There was a doozy last week. I read through that darned column at least four times and did not catch it (that is how superpowers work – mine being the ability to read things that are incorrect). By the way, no cape comes with that superpower and you don’t have to wear a lycra suit!
Yup, “Balance Bean.” Ugh. I saw it right after it was sent. Which further proves that I am not using AI to create these columns.
But did you know there is actually a Balance Bean? Whew. Not exactly what I was going for, but it seems almost as much fun as playing Hungry Hungry Hippo, Operation, or Twister!
The actual “Balance Bean” photo from the Internet. Product by Thinkfun.
And here I thought I might have to try to balance a bean on top of something, but no!
I clearly did not stick the landing on that one. And I thank you all for not sinking my Battleship, or crying Uno! And maybe I should just Go Fish instead of keeping writing. I guess you all gave me a Get Out of Jail Free card last week, and for that I am grateful.
I am Sorry, not sorry. And I did not draw a blank, nor did I get a triple word score.
Thank you all for your support of KWMR, for tuning in, for reading this newsletter, and for being such a great community!

p.s. Ember Stomp is coming up on Saturday, September 7. KWMR was at the event last year, but can’t swing it this year, but it is worth a visit! It is at the Marin Civic Center Fairgrounds and runs 11 AM – 5 PM. So much information for attendees. Food trucks, music, super modern fire equipment. Gardening tips, live burn demonstrations, and even goats! Click HERE for more information.
