“Stomp Stomp Stomp”

From the messy desk of Amanda Eichstaedt…
Stomp
What do defensible space, clean gutters, ladder fuels, world class barbecue, music, and a live burn demonstration all have in common? No, it’s not a home improvement cult, it’s Ember Stomp!
And that is where I will be this coming Saturday. The event is from 11AM – 5 PM at the Civic Center Fairgrounds. If you have not seen promo for this event, then you have truly been under a rock. It is a free event, great for the whole family, and the focus is on fire safety. We are heading right into fire season after a wet winter. Lots of new growth and many downed trees in our forests. Fuel for the fire, so to speak.
At Ember Stomp you can learn how to be prepared, what you can do to minimize damage from fire, how to be ready to evacuate safely, all while enjoying music, eating delicious food, and talking to people who know stuff (which really is everyone, but you know what I mean.)
Ember Stomp!
So if you are heading out to Ember Stomp, swing by the KWMR booth. I will be there with my pal Seamus Tomkins, who is one of the hosts of the “West Marin Naturalist Hour,” works with the Youth DJs from The Lounge, and is our neighbor here at KWMR, since he works for West Marin Community Services. We will be in the booth to answer your questions about KWMR, WMCS, the Community Response Team, and will have some fun give aways from KWMR, and a coupon for our online store!
Hope to see you Saturday!
Thank you for your reading this, listening to KWMR!

p.s. It’s bike month, so I’ve been riding my bike to work. Today I saw a candy cane on the side of the road. Out of season, for sure! And looks like it’s time to go pick up some more litter.
