It’s a Winning Sort of Week

It’s not a mega billion dollar lotto ticket, but it’s fun to have winners here at KWMR! First off, congratulations to Miyoko Schinner, she was the Calendar Club winner randomly selected to get one of the baskets (that are back). Thank you Miyoko, for being a sustaining donor at KWMR. It is very appreciated, and we are grateful for every single one of you, even though you were not chosen to get a basket….this time.

Our baskets now have more KWMR schwag in them!   photo: Mia Johnson

And congratulation to Jillian Moffett for being randomly chosen from a much smaller group, those who edit my writing here in the Round Up. Yes, it’s “crowd sourced” so even YOU can be an editor. Not seeing typos is sort of an unhandy “superpower” that I have. I would much rather be able to fly, or even climb buildings and use my web like Spider-man. But oh well.

We are heading into the holidays at mach speed here and that means that I go into my “audit cave.” The cave where I get to crunch numbers alongside our bookkeeper and send many things off to the auditor. It’s not an IRS audit, but one that we are required to conduct because we get money from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (Federal $$). I’m not complaining because we get this funding which allows us to keep the radio station viable, and because doing an audit ensures that your house is in order. I like that, despite all of the work that goes into it.

We are also winning with the weather. That nice dose of rain really put a damper on the seemingly never-ending fire season. And the skies are blue today, the sun is shining and there was frost on the pumpkin (and everything else) in Olema this morning. Waylon and I bundled up and took a run over to the Bear Valley Visitor Center this morning (our usual jaunt). We said “good morning” to the four Percheron horses that are bunking up with the Morgan horses this winter. They are visiting from Yosemite. Totally worth a spin over to the visitor center to check out all these fine equine residents.

Get your tickets in advance for the holiday play, since we will not be selling any tickets at the door. Thank you!

KWMR Is also teaming up with the Family Music Hour once again. Their next show is on Saturday, December 10. And if technology is kind to us, we may be broadcasting the show live on KWMR that evening. Stay tuned.

Have a great week.
