Growing up in England listening to the BBC's many radio programs, I was fascinated by those disembodied voices coming out of “the wireless.” They set my imagination free to paint vivid pictures, follow gripping stories and meet unforgettable characters. In 1999, after several years in advertising (London, England), feature films (Hollywood) and science education (San Francisco), radio beckoned and I found my own voice with the debut of KWMR’s morning reading programs. It was love at first word. Monday’s show, Turning Pages at Nature’s Pace, presents readings (fiction and non-fiction) that connect us to the world of nature. On Thursday’s show, Turning Pages: Reader’s Delight, I dig into some of the classics of English literature. And Classical Friday: At the Concert Hall gives me a chance to share some of my favorite classical works from the Baroque to the Modern Era. I feel I have come full circle in the exciting, often unpredictable world of KWMR community radio. You can find some of my KWMR radio readings on my website: www.janetrobbinsaudio.com
